Airport gate

An airport gate is a designated area within an airport terminal where passengers board and disembark from aircraft. It includes a waiting area with chairs, charging stations, vending machines, and restrooms.

Travelers arrive at the gate after clearing security. Airline staff scan boarding passes to ensure passengers are authorized to board. Each gate is assigned to a specific flight based on the airline’s schedule.

A movable bridge connects the gate to the aircraft door, allowing passengers to walk directly onto the plane. In other cases, passengers are transported to the aircraft by a shuttle bus.
