Check-out

Check-out is the process of finalizing your stay at a hotel or other accommodation and officially leaving the premises.

In hotels, guests check out by visiting the front desk. They may settle any remaining charges, such as room service or mini-bar expenses, and return their room keys. Some hotels offer express check-out, where guests can leave their keys in a designated box.

Vacation rentals often have a self-checkout process. Guests are provided with instructions on what to do before leaving, such as tidying up, taking out the trash, and locking the doors. There is usually no need to meet with a host or manager unless specified.

Check-out time is typically in the late morning or early afternoon, though late check-out may be available upon request and for additional cost.
