Commission
A сommission is a fee paid to an individual or entity for facilitating a transaction or sale. It is a percentage of the sale price or a fixed amount per transaction. Commissions are common in real estate, finance, sales, travel, and other industries to incentivize sales agents or intermediaries to close deals.
Travel service providers like airlines, hotels, and car rental companies often partner with intermediaries, such as travel agents and OTAs, to reach a broader audience and increase sales.
The higher the commission rate, the more likely the reseller will prioritize that service provider. Flights typically offer lower commission rates compared to hotels.
