Direct flight
A direct flight is a flight between two destinations that does not require passengers to change planes.
The aircraft may land at intermediate airports to refuel, effectuate crew changes, or pick up or drop off passengers.
For example, a traveler books a direct flight from New York to Mexico City with a stop in Dallas. The flight lands in Dallas to pick up additional passengers, but the traveler remains on the same plane for the entire journey.
A direct flight may sound similar to a flight leg, but there’s a difference. The latter has no stops, so a direct flight can consist of multiple flight legs.
