Facilities
Facilities are physical spaces, a grouping pieces of equipment, or services provided for a particular purpose. In the travel industry, the term facilities describes the infrastructure, amenities, and services that accommodate customers and enhance their experiences. They encompass:
- transportation hubs (airports, train stations, bus terminals, car rentals, etc.);
- accommodations;
- dining establishments;
- tourist attractions;
- leisure amenities like fitness centers, pools, spas; and
- business services like conference rooms and Wi-Fi access.
Hotels often distinguish themselves by offering various facilities to meet the diverse needs of their guests. For example, a corporate traveler might prioritize high-speed internet and presentation rooms, while a family on vacation may require children’s play areas and spacious suites.
