Go-around
A go-around is an aviation procedure in which a pilot decides to abort the landing during final approach or even after touchdown.
Instead of completing the landing, the pilot moves the aircraft away from the runway and re-enters the traffic pattern for another landing attempt.
The pilot decides whether to perform a go-around based on the situation at hand. This maneuver usually happens when the pilot can’t bring an aircraft to a stabilized approach or feels that conditions are unsafe for landing. Reasons can include poor visibility, runway obstructions, and miscommunications with air traffic control.
A go-around gives the pilot the opportunity to reassess landing conditions and try again. Unlike an emergency situation, this is more of a precautionary action to ensure a safe landing.
