Jet bridge

A jet bridge (also known as a passenger boarding bridge (PBB), jetway, jetwalk, or airgate) is an enclosed bridge that connects an airport terminal directly to an aircraft door. The direct connection streamlines the boarding and deplaning processes and helps manage the crowd flow.

A jet bridge provides passengers with a safe path, shielding them from adverse weather conditions and potential hazards on the tarmac.

The bridge is movable and adjustable. Once the aircraft is parked at the gate, the ground staff aligns the bridge with the aircraft door and adjusts its length and height.
