ONE Order
ONE Order is an initiative by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) aimed at simplifying and innovating the offer and order management for airlines. It’s an integral part of the industry’s transition to New Distribution Capability (NDC) and modern retailing standards.
Traditionally, airlines use three types of documents — a passenger name record (PNR), an e-ticket, and an electronic miscellaneous document (EMD) — to manage booking transactions. The ONE Order’s goal is to consolidate these artifacts into a single, unified record that contains all details related to a passenger’s journey, including
- flight itinerary,
- ancillary services (e.g., baggage, seat selection, meals),
- customer profile and preferences,
- payment information, and
- information related to changes, refunds, and other post-sales activities.
By creating this single source of truth, ONE Order aims to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance the overall passenger experience.
