Static content
Static content in travel refers to content that doesn’t often change as opposed to dynamic content. Depending on the industry (hospitality, aviation, rail transportation, tours and attractions, etc.) static content can include
- address and contact details,
- descriptions,
- pictures,
- seat maps,
- amenities,
- policies,
- logo icons,
- fare rules, and so on.
All these details very rarely change, so when creating travel inventory listings on various distribution channels (e.g., OTAs, metasearch, own website, etc.), static content is usually uploaded once and then stored in a reseller’s internal database (for the sake of not requesting the same information from the travel service provider every time a traveler makes a query). It’s also common to purchase static content in sets from specialized providers.
