Travelport Builds TripServices to Make AI Travel Bookable

Travelport launched TripServices, introducing a cloud-based API platform for travel sellers, developers, and AI travel tools.
The platform connects flights, hotels, and trip extras through one system, helping companies search, price, book, and service travel content more easily.
The launch comes as AI becomes more common in travel planning. AI assistants can already help travelers compare destinations, build itineraries, and narrow down choices. But booking a real trip is more complicated.
Why Travelport built the platform
TripServices is designed to reduce the technical work behind digital travel booking. Instead of connecting several systems and building extra layers, travel sellers can use one Travelport platform to access and manage content.
Flights, hotels, and servicing in one place
Travelport says TripServices supports air, hotel, and ancillary content. It also helps with search, ranking, pricing, booking, and servicing. Machine learning is used to show more relevant offers, so sellers do not have to sort through long lists of results that may not fit the traveler’s needs.
The hotel side is also important. Travel sellers often need more than a room price. They need live availability, images, property details, corporate rates, consortia rates, and information on whether a rate is commissionable.
Travelport’s wider AI push
TripServices is part of Travelport’s larger plan to modernize travel distribution for the AI era. In March 2026, Travelport said its shareholders committed $50 million to support AI development, content expansion, and growth in key customer segments. The company also said API-driven transactions had grown from 43 percent of customer transactions in 2022 to 63 percent in 2026.
In May 2026, Travelport announced a collaboration with Cognizant and Anthropic. The work focuses on adding AI into Travelport’s technology, including bookings, exchanges, refunds, and servicing. TripServices is the first major area of focus.
